Our Words Frame Our World
Hebrews 11:3 (AMP)
By faith we understand that the worlds…were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.
Words are more than mere sounds and syllables. God tells us in Hebrews 11:3 that the world and universe we see before our eyes were not made out of things which are visible. They have been created and framed by the words of our Almighty God. It may be hard to fathom and rationalize but the truth is, the visible has its origin in the invisible. For this is what the Word of God tells us. Words are tools that can create.
Wish you had this power with your words too? The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 1:4 (NLT), “And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature…”
Did you get that? You and I are able to share God’s divine nature! When we know God and receive Him in our lives, we become sharers and partakers of His divine nature. We can become who God is like.
God has given us the ability to frame our world with the words we say. The key question each of us has to ask is, “How am I using this ability?”
With the words we say, we could be framing a great and vast world for ourselves and others, or a tiny and shrinking one. The words we say can set us up for the miracles and breakthroughs we have been waiting to see. Or the words we say can set us up for the present undesirable circumstances to be prolonged.
What are your words framing and fashioning your world to be like? Are you expanding your world or shrinking your world with your words?
For most of us, if not all of us, there is a gap between what we want to see and what we are seeing now. Perhaps our career is not at where we hope it is, our health and fitness are not at our ideal state, our finances have not grown to where we have desired it to, our family is not heading the way we have set out for it to or our walk with Jesus is not growing as we have wanted.
There is a distance, a gap, between our desired scenario and what we are seeing in our life now. When this disparity persists, the progress we would like to see becomes distant, confusing and even unrealistic. A distance between what we want to see and what we are seeing now. So what do we do in the middle?
A few weeks ago, our Pastor, Dr Stephen Tan, taught us during our church service, a very important principle – Say What You Want To See. This is the powerful key to get from what we see now to the blessing and miracle we desire to see!
When we declare and speak out the good health, increasing wealth, loving family, thriving academic results, flourishing career or fast-growing church we want to see, we close up the gap between our now and future! When we say what we want to see though we do not yet see it, we are exercising faith and allowing God to work and move for us in the spiritual realm and cause the blessings to take place before our physical eyes. What is visible has its origin in the invisible.
Say what you want to see. Because you see what you say. Wondering why certain circumstances in your life have not changed for the better? Pause and consider what you have been saying regarding those situations. It may be very likely that your words have been framing those situations to be perpetuating in negativity and impossibility.
Is there a victory that you have been wanting to see happen but it has not come through? Stop talking about how it has not taken place. Start saying the victory is already beginning to come to your life. Start saying that God is working on your behalf to direct all things to your favor. Start saying God has given you the ability you need to gain that victory.
Our words have creative power that can frame our world. Would we use what we say to set our life up to see the blessings and miracles we long to see? Our words can bridge the gap between our now and future. Would we use our words to connect us to experience the growth and breakthrough we want? I pray you make the decision with me to always say what we want to see, so that we can begin to see all the long-awaited good things unfold before our very eyes. Not only this, another beautiful transformation births as we take this journey – our faith grows as we exercise God’s divine nature of framing and equipping our lives for God’s intended purpose with what we say. We grow and become more like the person God has created us to be.
Say this prayer with me.
“Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for enabling me to share Your divine nature. I commit to be wise with what I say, always declaring the good things I desire, whether I am interacting with other people or when I am alone. I thank You that as I say such words of faith, You work on my behalf to shift all things in my favor. I thank You that because of Your power working in me, my words of faith are greater than my present circumstances and cause them to have a breakthrough. I declare I am blessed and I am a blessing to others. Thank You, Lord Jesus. In Your Name, I pray. Amen.”
