ONE Resurrection – At The Tomb

 Listen to Audio Here.

John 20:18 (NIRV)

Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news. She said, “I have seen the LORD!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Resurrection is the act of rising from the dead. More than two thousand years ago, when Jesus died on the Cross and was buried, the death and burial did not stop our All-Powerful Son of God rising from that state of death. Mary Magdalene was one of the first who saw Jesus. She was outside the tomb weeping after she found the body of Jesus disappeared. Who took away His body and why would anyone do so?

Mary Magdalene must be grieved and perplexed at the same time. But her mourning and lamenting would soon turn into dancing. “Mary!” Jesus called out to her and she recognized instantaneously the voice of her Master. Her Master is alive! He has resurrected. The body of Jesus was not in the tomb, not because someone had removed the body. Jesus has resurrected. The tomb was emptied and Jesus is ALIVE!

When Peter and John saw the emptied tomb, they believed. When Mary Magdalene met Jesus outside the tomb, she believed. I pray that as you listen to today’s devotion that your faith strengthens. Believe that He is the Son of God and now seated at the right hand of our Father in Heaven, interceding for you. Let your faith compel you to believe that Jesus has the power to cleanse your sins and give you a new life.

When we have the resurrection power of Jesus, our life will never be the same again. When my uncle was in a critical condition, God’s resurrection power brought forth healing and gave him a number of beautiful years thereafter. In those years where my family was in financial difficulties, the LORD’s resurrection power led us out of the desponding situation victoriously.

The disciples became disorientated when Jesus died on the Cross. Once hopeful but now they lost their purpose in life. Once so definite about God’s calling, but filled with uncertainty of the future upon Christ’s death.

God never fails neither will He abandon us. He will lead and guide us whenever we call upon Him. Therefore, do not lose courage or be fearful. God’s death on the Cross and His Resurrection at the tomb give us hope and life in every situation we face.

As we come before God today, I pray that you surrender all your hopeless situations to Him, believing without a tinge of doubt that His resurrection power can breath life into these situations.

Let’s now take a moment to pray.

“Dear Jesus, thank You for dying on the Cross.  Praise God for the victory over death and the resurrection power.  It is with this power that our life has newness and hopefulness.  I believe in You and give my life to You.  I pray that in every situation, my faith in Your promises will continue to hold me strong and firm in Your ways.  Thank You Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen”
