Expect Another Miracle
Ever since I received Jesus into my life, Christmas has been very special to me. I have finally realized the true meaning of Christmas. The focus isn’t about the gifts or Christmas performances. Instead, it’s all about Jesus and the love of God! The Word of God in John 3:16 teaches us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus came so that everyone who believes in Him will have life and life to abundance. Wow! What a beautiful and magnificent truth! This gets me excited and motivated to see the people whom I love, come to know God! So that they can enjoy an abundant life with Jesus!
One year during the Christmas season, my Pastor, Dr Stephen Tan taught us to prepare ourselves for Christmas. The preparation was to pray, meditate on God’s Word and train our spirit to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. All these were so that we could lead at least one precious soul to Christ by our Christmas Celebration. I went home and did so for a couple of weeks. I prayed and asked God to speak to me through His Word. He gave me this Bible verse, from John 10:27, “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me”. At that time, I didn’t know how that verse linked to leading someone to Jesus. Nevertheless, I continued to ponder over the verse and prayed that God would send me someone to reach out to. I continuously asked God who that someone was. In my prayer, I asked God to quicken my spirit and nudge me real hard so that I would not miss the opportunity to lead that precious someone to Christ.
The day of our Christmas Celebration came. I have invited both my parents to be there with us. Throughout the time, I prayed that the precious soul would respond to God’s love. At one point during the celebration, an altar call was made to invite people to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. At that moment, I was at the backstage, still praying and interceding for that someone. Suddenly, a church friend came running to me, saying, “Your father raised his hand!! He responded to the invitation to receive Jesus!” Finally! I realized that precious someone I have been praying for is my father. Immediately, I ran out to look for him. I led him in the salvation prayer to invite Jesus to be His Lord and Savior. The joy within me was uncontainable! I really thank God that someone so dear and precious to me has come to know Him. People who know my father have always thought that he would be one of the last few people who would ever receive Jesus into his life. But God is so amazing!! Nothing is impossible for God! Indeed, He is a God of all possibilities and nothing is ever too difficult for Him.
Today, let all who have ears hear His voice! Jesus is calling out to you. If you have not yet received Jesus, He is knocking at the door of your heart. And if you’re already a believer of Jesus, prepare yourself and lead someone to say the salvation prayer this Christmas season! Our God is a God of miracles! Expect a miracle this season!
Come, let us pray.
“Hallelujah! Father, I praise You and thank You that You are the God of miracles. Today, I respond to Your call and invite you into my life to be my Lord and Savior. Holy Spirit, help me to be sensitive to Your leading, so that I will be a vessel used by God to lead more people to come to know Jesus. Thank You, Lord. In Jesus’ most powerful Name I pray, Amen!”
