Matthew 10:39 (NIV)
Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.

Season after season, I always find me asking myself somehow or rather:” What am I really hungry for?” I’m sure most of you know that this hunger that I am referring to is not so much the physical hunger than it is the spiritual one. I think that as Christians, it is vital that from time to time, we should really dig deep into our spirits and muster up the courage to ask ourselves this seemingly harmless question which might actually end up yielding results that surprise even ourselves. How would I know? That’s because I have surprised myself with my own answers one too many times. Important as it is to be united with one another to carry out the Great Commission, what strikes me as something far more necessary than that would be our duty to be individually responsible and liable for our relationship with God and to be personally united with Him before anything else can be set into motion.

Friends, I cannot even begin to stress the fact of how putting God as your topmost priority will not only change, but it will truly revolutionize your life in ways you can never imagine, and I am not exaggerating one bit. What I am talking about is to lead a life that exemplifies Christ, to be able to wholly surrender all that we hold dear in this life to Him, knowing that as freely as He has given to us, so freely He can choose to take back. But whatever the case may be, we know that it is for our pruning and maturation that He does all that He does. To be a people who cherish and love God so dearly that it becomes evidently prevalent in our everyday lives, that even those who do not know Christ are naturally drawn towards us, just as a kid is drawn towards a toy store, because they know that you do not act as this world acts and that you are something else altogether. That, in my humble opinion, is how I feel a Christian should lead his or her life. Indeed, those that lose their life for the sake of our Heavenly Father will find it and be rewarded in full when the time comes.

If you are wondering:” How do I even get started, I’m so far from God right now.” Boy, do I have good news for you because contrary to your belief, God is nearer than you probably think. In fact, I am pretty certain that He is reach outing to you to take your hand this very instant, as long as you let Him. God’s Word says in Matthew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Although this verse has been preached multiple times with regard to physical blessings, that is but a fraction of the true potential of this Word. Do you want God’s Presence in your life? Or His wisdom in all the decisions you have to make? Ask with reverence, seek earnestly, knock patiently and wait upon the Lord and I guarantee that all these things shall be added into your life as long as you have the right heart when asking.

So remember that in all things, we shouldn’t just be looking left and right for help. Make it your priority today that in everything you involve yourself in, up will be the direction you look toward first.

Let’s pray.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You that wherever I am at in my present situation, I know that You are never too far for me to call upon Your Name. I am grateful for Your kindness and the love that You have shown me and it is my prayer that in all things I will look to You. May my heart desire nothing but to be in Your will and Your plan. Lord, I pray that even as I spend time to seek You and knock on Your door, You will teach me to put down all that my hands have made even as I come before You and immerse myself in Your Presence. Transform me and renew my mind, that Your desires become mine and should there be any challenges along the way, I pray that I will run to You first and not look left and right. Thank You once again for choosing to dwell in me, and In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
