There Is Really Only ONE Way

Listen to Audio Here.

1 Timothy 2:4-6 (CEV/MSG/GWT)
4 God wants not only us but everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth, which is,
5 There is only one God, and Christ Jesus is the only One who can bring us to God. Jesus was truly human,
6 and He sacrificed Himself for all people to free them from their sins. This message is valid for every era.

In my reaching out to people around me to share with them the Good News of Jesus Christ, some people would tell me they have other religious beliefs and they think all are the same as long as they teach us to do good.

This is not an uncommon notion many people hold. However, the Bible tells us that “ There is only one God and Christ Jesus is the only One who can bring us to God…” 1 Timothy 2:5

Our sin has separated us from God, the Creator of all things, our Heavenly Father. God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth through a miraculous birth so that all of human race have a Way to connect with God Himself. And God gave His beloved Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross for all people to free us from our sins. Yes, God sent Jesus to be born to die. For our freedom.

This is God’s deep and sacrificial love for you and me and everyone.

At Christmas, we remember and celebrate God’s great love for every one of us. For at Christmas more than two thousand years ago, Jesus was born among us, for us.

At Christmas, we celebrate that Jesus has come to be the One Mediator between us and God. Jesus has come to be the Way for us to be reconciled to God.

Reconciliation. This is such a beautiful word. It means no more estrangement between two parties. It implies a relationship being restored and made whole. In recent years, I have come to appreciate reconciliation even more. Due to a conflict, there has been separation between my family members in these few years. It is heartbreaking and difficult to go through this. There are times I have been gripped with fear that the reconciliation might never come.

This Christmas season, God reminds me of His great love and the reconciliation that Jesus has come to give. God assures me that His will is always for His people to gather, not scatter.

I find new strength and hope in God’s message of love and reconciliation. And I pray that this shall be a season of God’s love bringing forth reconciliation of my family members to God, and reconciliation between them.

Christmas. The birth of Jesus, our Savior, Lord and King. This is indeed “good news of great joy”, as the Bible tells us in Luke 2:10. The world has never been the same and will never be, because of Christmas, because of Jesus.

His precious blood shed on the Cross has purchased for us freedom from sin. You and I are now free to go to our Heavenly Father in prayer, in worship, in thanksgiving and praise. You and I have new life and empowerment by the Holy Spirit. You and I can be victorious in life because Jesus has overcome the grave and resurrected. And “whoever believes in Jesus shall not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16. Our connection with God lasts forever!

How I thank and worship Jesus for the absolute freedom I have on this earth, and into the eternity.

As followers of Christ, we must know that “God wants not only us but everyone to be saved and to know the whole truth…” 1 Timothy 2:4

The heartbeat of God is very clearly spelt out here. But how can everyone be saved when they do not yet know the truth? And how will they know the truth if no one tells them about it?

This Christmas season, let us share with the world about Jesus Who is the only One to bring us reconciled to God and connected to all of God’s good gifts. “This message is valid for every era”, the Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 2:6.

Join me in this prayer.

“Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving Your only and beloved Son, Jesus, unto the world. I thank You that my faith in Jesus as my Lord and Savior has forever reconciled me with You, our Heavenly Father. I know, O God, You have also given me this message of reconciliation to share with others, so that everyone can know the Truth of Your love and grace, and be saved. This Christmas season, I rise up to live as an ambassador of Christ like never before. In my everyday life, Your Good News shall be on my lips and Your love shown through my life. Bless every relationship in my life and may any broken relationship be restored by the power of Your love. I praise You and give You thanks, O God. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.”
